It´s called “Wild West”, also known as “Sunflower State”, in recognition of the sunflowers in the prairles of this land. Topeka is the capital. Other cities are Wichita, Overland Park, and Lawrence, Kansas city as the most important ones.
The Spencer Art Museum, in Lawrence, is considered one of the best of university arts in the country and “Exploration place”, a place to discover the extraordinary and part of high technology in the world.
Dodge City is considered by many to be the “Cowboys Capital of the World.” And it is a national leader in the production of oil and natural gas. Currently, the main sources of income of the state are commerce and industry.
You can also visit Boot Hill Museum, which displays famous wild west town boneyard, buffalo, Indians and outlaws, guns and summer daily gunfights. The world´s largest ball of twine, The Garden of Eden, Grassroots Art Center, Famous Gunfighters Wax Museum that shows notorious villains and lawmen from the wild west- Jesse James, Wyatt Earp, along with the Wolfman, Dracula and JFK unchanged since the mid- 1960´s, are some of the many places you can visit in this state added to U.S on January 29th, 1861.
